At GM GOLF we are great supporters of the Ryder Cup event, for this reason since 2002 VRMJGC has celebrated the R J Moore Challenge Trophy every September, this 2 day event is in memory of Grahams' late Father, Ronald James Moore who was a single figure player & an unconditional follower of the Ryder Cup.
After his death in September 2001 the Moore family decided to donate a trophy to be played within the club following the structure & format of the Ryder Cup, only instead of Europe v USA it would be the Captain of VRMJGC versus the Vice Captain of the Club. The teams will play Foursomes & Fourball better ball on day one & singles matchplay on day 2, medals & the trophy are presented to the teams at the October presentation (Please visit VRMJGC link for updates on RJ MOORE TROPHY 2010)
