Press Release September 2009
Graham Moore Junior Golf Tour got its 2009 season off to a flying start with their Inaugural European Championships, held at Crans-Sur-Sierre Golf Club in Switzerland, the home of the European Tours Omega European Masters.
With age group winners from Switzerland, Italy, Kenya, USA, Korea and Spain (which included Miguel Angel Jimenez's son Victor), adding to the victorious tour players from previous seasons the GM Junior Golf Tour is proving to be as successful in Europe as they are in the UK.
The winners were:
Callum Brady and Emma Goddard (Both from the Liverpool area of England), Stephan Sorg (Switzerland), Luca Portelli (Italy), Rina Jung (Korea), Victor Jimenez (Spain), Akshay Chandaria (Kenya), Manon Donche-Gay (USA), Nina Donche-Gay (USA).
As the Tour returned to more familiar territory in the UK it was established Tour Players who blazed a trail for others to follow as Rachael Maitland (Liverpool), Ray Rogers (Wales), Toby O'Connor(Wales), Joseph Cloherty(Liverpool) and Matthew Myers(Middlewich) took the honours at Rhosneigr Golf Club in Anglesey. Rachael, Toby and Matthew would confirm their dominance of the Welsh Links courses by also winning at Bull Bay, being joined in victory by European Champion Callum Brady, Jack Duncalf and Scott Johnson (both of Northwich).
As the Tour moved to Scotland, it was newcomers Josh Roy and Matthew Croal(Scotland) who took the titles at Charleton and Elmwood Golf Clubs respectively.
With the Tour returning to Portal Golf & Country Club for its flagship event, The Miguel Angel Jimenez Trophy sponsored by El Valle Villa rental of Polaris World and Rangeholder, in conjunction with Flightscope & Miguel , the standard as expected with 47 players, was incredibly high. With the weather conditions being as testing as the Tour has seen all year it was proven winners who came to the fore with Emma Goddard, Callum Brady, Joey Lamb (Liverpool), Jack Duncalf, Eloise Healey(Liverpool), John-Paul Ralph(Liverpool), sisters Sounisa and Soraya Bell(South Wales) and Fraser Stewart(Warrington) taking the individual first prizes. It was Golden Girl Emma Goddard though who would take the overall Miguel Angel Jimenez Trophy Title with a level par 73 (being the best score to par of any age category).
The following day, the Hawkstone Park event sponsored by CJ Services would highlight Emma's dominance of the Parkland venues as she and Toby O'Connor would win once more, however it would be a family day as Brothers Jack and Tom Duncalf as well Sisters Sounisa and Soraya Bell who would also emerge victorious.
At The Belfry sponsored by CJ SERVICES LTD, Emma, Sounisa and Soraya as well as Tom Duncalf would win once more, with James Tisdale (Liverpool) with a level par 72, Daniel Swales 75 (Widnes) and Alex Johnson (Nothwich) all making a welcome return to the winners circle.
Styal Golf Club (in conjunction with National County Card) would highlight once more Emma, Sounisa and Soraya's supremacy, with Alex Johnson winning back to back titles; however it was a first 2009 victory for John Drinkwater( Manchester) and a second for Eloise Healey.
As the Tour moved on to Wychwood Park (sponsored by Agile Golf Clubs from SPAIN) it was repeat winners Ray Rogers, Emma Goddard, Jack Duncalf and Matthew Myers winning again with John Drinkwater joining the multiple winners table for the season.
The Irish Open would throw up some surprise victors, as trophies went to tour newcomers Jamie Douglas( English, but resident in Germany) David Giandomenico(Florida, USA), Ross Mohan a local & player with the GM Junior Tour for the past 5 years
In a rain shortened Welsh Open at The Gower in South Wales repeat victors Sounisa & Soraya Bell would come out on top once more, as well as Jamie Douglas capitalizing on his form in Ireland. It would also highlight the talent in depth of the tour as the tenacity and consistency of tour stalwart George Kane (Northwich) would eventually pay off with his first victory this season. They were also joined by Rebecca McGheegan (English, but resident in Germany) with her first win on tour.
With the final event of the 2009 season (UK Championships) being played at Wildwood Country Club in Surrey, it was fitting that the titles would be shared between veterans and rookies alike, as Tom Duncalf (Northwich), Jamie Douglas, Rebecca McGheegan and Karam Singh(Essex) showed the talent required to be successful on tour.
All GM Junior Tour events are scratch events, however, with the tour being linked to Junior Golf Scoreboard (for international competition) as well as the English Golfing Union, English Women's Golf Association & Scottish Golfing Union for handicapping purposes, all players scores completed from white, yellow and red tees will allow the amateur unions and associations to make handicap adjustments which; in turn will help the players to maintain their development towards the professional level.
As the GM Junior Tour reflects on a successful 2009 season during some very trying economic times, they can look back with great pride in the talent and level of commitment from the players as well as having the comfort from knowing they are helping the future stars of tomorrow get a head start today.

GRAHAM MOORE INTERNATIONAL GOLF SCHOOLS
“Graham Moore's World of Golf expanding again”
The GMIGS/ Junior Golf Tour formed in 2004 for 2005 start, is now in full operation.
The tour has 14 divisions, 7 for boys & 7 for girls, 43 juniors from all over the Country have joined so far and 5 have entered for all 12 one day events covering England, Scotland, Ireland & Wales. 18 entries for all the Irish events have also been received to date.
Qualifiers from these events on the addition of a further entry fee will compete in a 3 day Tour Masters & 3 day Tour Championship. The Tour is the only one available in the UK and Ireland on full-size courses, with the juniors playing from tees relevant to their ages and scoring medal play gross.
The Order of Merit winners after all the events will also receive two day's coaching in St. Andrews with Worldwide renowned P.G.A. Golf Coach Graham Moore.
Moore quotes “With the addition of the Junior Tour I feel I now have all the stepping stones possible to train future tour players and enhance the future of Junior Golf in the United Kingdom & Ireland . As the Tour will enlighten the juniors of the experience of travel, different golf course styles and lengths, both of which are needed for further development of their golfing abilities. The aim of the GMIGS tour is to continue the good work other tours have done initially with creating enthusiasm competitiveness by advancing their shot making and scoring skills which will all go to help the Juniors reach the next level as they need experience of full size courses from distances relevant to their ages and to play gross medal events and not to have a number of shots to utilize.
In the end the GMIGS Tour has been designed to create the Tour players of the future and also if any Juniors qualify to play in world events they will not be shocked on arrival to find they now compete on longer courses having qualified on lesser length courses.
My team and I train juniors from 3 years old upwards through, schools tuition, starter centres & Introduction days.
Then the follow on step is with the well established Junior Golf Academies.
The next level is Individual Development Programmes with myself, which I have top amateurs and professionals participating.
The Junior Club formed in 2001 has helped to enhance & develop all the participant's abilities to the point where most need the next level of play.
All of the foregoing Programmes and activities have proven track records of success and with the addition of the Nationwide Junior Tour this will enhance abilities once more and bring all the best juniors from 6-21 years olds together from all over the UK and in time the World to once again enhance & develop the abilities of junior golf on a global scale”
21st January 2005
The Welsh venues have now been finalised
The North Wales event will take place on the 8th August on the Isle of Anglesey at the Anglesey Golf Club (Rhosneigr)
The South Wales event will be at The Gower Golf Club, Swansea, West Glamorgan on 24th August
Moore quotes " With the addition of the two Welsh courses this now completes the 12 one day events on the tour
The two courses are very different, Rhosneigr is nearly at sea level and the suttle undulations on the fairways is true links golf
The Gower sits above Swansea on the Gower peninsula, the mountain view over Carmarthen Bay and Llanelli are breath taking, again the fairways are very undulated and different shot making is necessary on this hill side course"

Tour Masters 29th, 30th and 31st August 2005
Graham Moore Junior Golf Tour announces the venue for the three day Tour Masters - It will take place at Canford Magna, Wimborne, Dorset.
Moore Quotes - "This 45 Hole complex is ideal for the three day Masters, the Knighton course is excellent for the 6-8 year old players, although a little shorter than our Tour criteria for the boys it makes up for this by its undulating - mackenzie greens and the flags can be positioned in such a way to involve all the well placed hazards and mounds surrounding the greens.
The Parkland and Riverside courses which all other competitors will play will be a test for the Tour Members. Players on day one will play the Parkland Course, Day 2 The Riverside Course. The Final Round on Day 3 after the CUT the players will once again play on the Parkland Course".
18th October 2004
The final one day venue for the England section of the Graham Moore Junior Golf Tour will take place in the South West of England at Ferndown Forest Golf Club near Bournemouth.
Moore Quotes - "The course is shorter than our Tour regulations for certain age categories, but it makes up for it with its narrow fairways and strategically positioned hazards.
I would call it a HIDDEN GEM and I have purposely incorporated it in the Tour Schedule to prove that it is not only distance, but the accuracy of your shot that counts to be a TOP GOLFER.
Our Tour Players will learn how to create a score from positional play instead of just a long drive.
It makes a great asset to the Tour Calendar".
16th October 2004
Midlands venue for the English Section will take place at HAWKSTONE PARK on 22nd August 2005
Moore quotes " The Hawkstone Courses are both gems of the Midlands, I'm certain playing the Hawkstone course will enhance our players abilities"
10th October 2004
Tour announces first English venue "PORTAL CHAMPIONSHIP" will host the Northern event on 15th August 2005
Moore quotes ""to have such a prestigious venue as the Championship Course at Portal as part of the Tour calendar is very rewarding and I know that our Tour players from all over the Globe will enjoy it's challenges"
19th September 2004
Tour Attracts members of all ages from all over the UK. Including Cumbria, London, Cheshire, Merseyside and Bournemouth.
Moore Quotes "To have the support from all these areas in the tours infancy is very rewarding considering the tour only begins in July 2005".

Moore Quotes "All Entrants can see the logic of the tour, its benefits both on and off the golf course. They are all helping me to fulfill my dream of once again creating a unique development area for junior golf in the UK as I did in 2001 with the Worlds first and only Junior only golf club"

"THE LAUNCH OF A NEW ERA"
GRAHAM MOORE INTERNATIONAL GOLF SCHOOLS
JUNIOR TOUR 2005
Moore quotes " I have formed Graham Moore Int. Golf Schools Junior Tour due to the need for exceptional junior golfers of all nationalities to play against each other
As there are many large scale events in the USA such as the US Kids World Championships, the Calloway World event, the US PGA Junior series to name only a few
In Great Britain & Europe we have nothing of this kind
If these budding starlets both boys & girls are to be future champions they need to experience travel, languages & different cultures as well as different courses such as links, heathland & parkland to develop their golfing skills
The tour has been set up with this in mind
Initially the tour will be funded by myself and the players along with the overwhelming support of the golf courses where possible.
In addition to these supporters I'm looking at companies who see the niche market and long term potential to their business's, as well as the sports governing bodies to come on board to help the tour grow & succeed to provide an excellent training ground for future tour golfers
In 2001 I formed the first & still only Junior Golf Club which has been & remains a success with introducing over 600 juniors into the competitive side of the game
The junior tour is the next stepping stone for the club members along with many other talented starlets world wide
