SCOTLAND REGION

SCOTLAND 19th - 22 nd JULY 2005

Playing at Charleton Golf Course was quite an experience. I found the course set up to be extremely difficult, certainly to Tour Standards. The day was well organised and the staff were all very professional. I would recommend the Graham Moore Junior Golf Tour to any aspiring junior golfer.

George Buckley 17-18 Age group player

I have found the tour very good and I have enjoyed the week in Scotland very much. I know the experience I have gained will help me to be able to play on many different courses in the future. The tour has been a good reflection of the bigger professional tours and has given me an insight into how it would be to be a professional golfer.

Mark Addison 15-16 Age group player

T he tour will help me become a better golfer as I have been able to play against people who are the same age as me. With the graded hole lengths I was able to make more pars and birdies than I would normally do on a full size course. The hole positions we received each day were very useful, as they helped you know were to aim for when you were in a position to hit the green. The tour was very professional especially when you went into the recording tent to hand in your score cards you were treated like a professional golfer.

Paul Drinkwater 11-12 Age group player

The tour was very professional in its set up, fantastic golfing environment for aspiring young golfers to learn about all aspects of the game. The set up, course set up, player guidance was excellent. Graham and the team must have worked extremely hard to prepare and run the events; all their efforts have paid off.

The Graham Moore Junior Golf Tour as very well organised and to arrive at a Golf Club to find that everything was set up and ready for the players to start playing golf was very impressive. The whole set up of the Tour was structured to each individual age group and therefore allowed the juniors to make more pars and birdies to their relevant group. The juniors were able to make realistic gross golf scores to their related age groups which made them feel that they were achieving good scores for their ability. The courses played were in excellent condition and gave the juniors a lot of challenges. Well done to Graham and his team!

Derek Bugden Father of B.J Bugden 9-10 Age group player

The Tour was very good because we were given hole locations each day, which helped you to know where about on the green the pin was positioned. The rule information sheets helped you understand the rules easier as they explained them to you in words that you understood. The graded holes were very good as you could achieve more pars and birdies than usual. The Tour was very well organised and everything was on time.

Lewis Jackson 11-12 Age group player

The graded hole lengths were very good, they brought all the course hazards into play which you would not get when playing from the normal course tees.

Dan Rowlands 11-12 Age group player

The Tour was fun and fantastic. It was a great experience to play holes that I could make gross birdies and pars.

E Scott 9-10 Age group player

The tour was very good and the hole lengths were a good length so we could have birdie opportunities. The length of the holes brought all the course obstacles into play.

A Charnock 11-12 Age group player

I think the Tour was well organised and all the team worked hard. It was a good test of golf and all the information you were given helped you when on the course. I hope the experience I have gained by playing on the Tour will lead to bigger and better things.

E Goddard 13-14 Age group player

The three events played in Scotland did provide my son a different, potentially positive golfing experience. The shortened holes did provide the opportunity for him to make more pars and birdies, which will have a positive effect on his development in the game and boost his confidence levels.

The organisation of the events were first class from initial registration to the submission of the score cards and does, even at his young age, give him an insight into how the professional game is conducted

Congratulations must also go to the three golf courses, which were very well presented especially St. Michaels, which on the back nine provided opportunities to make or wreck a card !!

IRELAND REGION

IRELAND 2nd – 5th AUGUST 2005

The Graham Moore Junior Golf Tour is a very good idea, but as it is in its first year of operation needs more time to establish. The experience was great for my son Billy. The courses were excellent and the set-up enabled the kids to make gross eagles, birdies and pars. Well done Graham and Maria.

Andrew Spooner, father of Billy Spooner 9-10 Age group player.

Reece has thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Ireland . Playing on the various courses has given the children wonderful opportunities to develop their golf and improve their game. We are looking forward to the rest of the tour.

Cath and Pete Lester, parents of Reece Lester 6-8 Age group player.

The Tour gave the children wonderful opportunities to play different and challenging course. They were also given the chance to play other children of different abilities. The Tour in Ireland was a great experience for both children and adults. The set up was very professional.

I am delighted to see that both boys and girls have now got themselves a tournament of competitions that they can play relevant to their age. The tour was reminiscent of the US Kids World Championship in Virginia USA of which my daughter has played in.

Tony Goddard father, of Emma Goddard 13-14 Age group player.

The tour is becoming very competitive due to fact that all players in my age group are of a similar ability. The courses in Ireland were well designed and the set up was excellent, which made you think about every shot. I thought of all the course Kilkea Castle was the most rewarding to play.

Danny Rowlands, 11-12 Age group player.

The tour in Ireland was interesting because we played tough courses that made you think more about your game.

Adam Charnock, 11-12 Age group player.

The Graham Moore Junior Golf Tour has been a wonderful experience for my son who has been able to produce gross birdies and eagles, which has boosted his confidence tremendously. The experience he has gained is second to none and will be with him for the rest of his life. The Tour is well set up and the courses played are of an excellent standard.

Sharon Charnock, mother of Adam Charnock 11-12 Age group player.

Thank you for an amazing four days of golf. It was thoroughly enjoyable and terrific fun.
Four amazing course which really stretched my golfing capabilities in all the right places. Very challenging, with tight fairways and fast greens.

Receiving pin location sheets helped me to attack the flag and the rule information sheets made the round a lot faster instead of constantly having to check the rulebooks. The G.U.R. was sufficiently clarified on all holes.
The tour for me personally was a chance for me to gain play-off experience and scratch golf. I will take these experiences with me and try to build on them.

Aside from the golf, the friendliness and social side to the week enabled me to meet lots of new people and make new friends with whom I am sure I shall stay in touch.
The tour was very professionally run considering it was only in its first year.

I did not play as well as I would have liked but the experience in itself was invaluable to me.

James Guterman 13-14 Age group player.

The Irish Tour events have been another good experience for me as they have helped me to identify and understand some of the flaws in my game. Playing on courses I have never seen before was tough but has helped me to be able to adapt my game to different course layouts. The G.M.J.G.T. provides a realistic likeness as to what life on one of the professional tours would be like. I am looking forward to playing the rest of the tour.

I have really enjoyed the Graham Moore Junior Golf Tour.
Playing many different courses will definitely improve my golf game. Receiving hole locations helped as I was able to aim directly at the flag. The rule information sheets also helped as it did speed the game up.
Overall, I thought the tour was run in a very professional way.

R Hawkins Age 13-14 Group player

The junior golf tour event at Portals Championship course was set up exceptionally well. The course was of the highest standard and the set up was difficult for all age groups. As always, the staff did a great job in organising the event. The G.M.J.G.T. is quickly developing into a fantastic and realistic training ground for all junior golfers of all ages.

G Buckley Age 17-18 Group player

I have enjoyed the competitions very much and the courses have been very good to play. The tour has been run very well and professionalism.

L Jackson Age 11-12 Group player

The courses that the children have been playing have been exceptional and have given them a lot to think about when playing their shots. Since my son has started playing on the tour I have seen him reduce his handicap to single figures. I am sure that he would not have done this if he had not had the opportunity that the tour has given him. I give a big thank you to Graham and Maria for their determination and dedication that they have given to the game of golf for juniors.

Overall Tour Impressions 2005

Graham Moore Junior Tour 2005

First, just to say that William enjoyed both events very much and the experience and opportunity of playing on the Belfry's Brabazon Course in last week's Tour Player's Championship was much appreciated.

We think that the concept of a Junior Tour like this, with a regular series of events and Order of Merit points etc, is exactly what is needed for promising junior golfers of around William's age

A great deal of effort had clearly gone into setting up the courses with special tee markers for each age group's correct distance and the detail provided by way of special scorecards giving the distance for each age group and plans of pin positions etc. was very good

We were only able to attend two events (Ferndown Forest and The Belfry), but on the evidence of these two events the courses on which the tour was played had been chosen very well

As you will see from the above comments,we are therefore pleased to say that our impressions of the tour have been very positive

Shi-Ying & James Aldred (Parents of William 9-10 age group player)

Rachael thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Junior Tour. It was very well organised by Graham and his team and has helped tremendously with Rachael's progression. We look forward to taking part in next years tour
