going down to the final event Moore quotes" The results achieved by all academy members both in side academy activities & outside in 2002has been outstanding. Fine performances on a national scale, during this season were achieved by all the Academy members who competed in the golfing society of G B, Moortown Masters, Leeds – this is a very prestigious national tournament that features all the best juniors in the country. I am proud to say that Sam Platt won the best nett in his age group and he came third overall in the gross category. Henry Bennett came second in both the nett & gross categories in his age group. Michael Malcolmson was 4th, Dan Rowlands was 5th and Simon Gillam and Josh Hardman also had creditable finishes. In the Buchanan Cup at Delamere Forest Golf Club, Academy members stole the show occupying all 3 top positions - Michael Malcolmson won with a fantastic score of 49 stableford points, Josh Hardman came second with 40 and Michael Tierney came third with 36 points. Sam Platt and Emma Goddard had fine performances in the PGA’s Wee-Wonders national Final held at Foxhills, Surrey on 8th September. Sam Platt finished 7th overall out of the original entry of 2 000 juniors. Emma finished 5th overall and qualified as the highest placed under 12 years old girl to represent Great Britain & Ireland in the Wee Wonders World Championships in Williamsburg, Virginia, in the USA, which is to be held in July/August 2003. Ping Europe have once again agreed to increase their support for Graham Moore International Golf Schools Junior Academies in 2003 for the academy expansion. Rick Stanton & Dave Fanning of Ping Europe have been tremendous supporters of my activities for many years and for all the Academy participants to have a chance of winning a quality product as Ping is outstanding. Many thanks Rick, Dave & Ping Europe from Maria, myself and all Academy members. The expansion year is due to the commitment from all Academy members and the development structures that are in place. Academy members are now achieving the accolade they deserve on a national & international basis and I’m certain the results received so far are the tip of the iceberg and better results are still to come. |

"THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN"
Seven of Graham Moore’s Junior Academy & Development Programme pupils competed in the inaugural Graham Moore & Greenlife Golf Junior Open 2003 near Marbella on Costa del Sol recently.Six of the Seven finished in the top 11 of the nett section of the event. The seventh member Simon Gillam aged 10 retired injured on day 1, but returned on day 2 to win the second day 1st Nett prize scoring 10 under par for the day. Sam Platt & Emma Goddard both aged 11 stole the show in the Gross section of the event finishing 1st & 2nd respectively score 137 & 139 over the 2 day event. Their closest rival being 9 shots behind Emma & 11 shots behind Sam. Sam & Emma were also first & second respectively in the daily individual gross scores. .Sam’s score just beating Emma on each day by 1 stroke. Emma had her victory over Sam by having the nearest to the flag on day 2 with 314cmSam & Emma finished second & fourth in the overall 2 day nett event, Emma on this occasion having the upper hand. Emma also won the best nett on day 1 with a 12 under par 42 Neil Williams aged 10 was the next highest placed Graham Moore International Golf Schools /Junior Academy in representative in a creditable 7th place in the two day overall nett section. Daniel Rowlands aged 10 finished 8th , Sam Barnett aged 11 finished 9th, Lewis Jackson aged 10 finished 10th. Moore quotes "All of Graham Moore International Golf Schools /Junior Academy members played exceptionally well and all 6 who completed 2 days finished in the top 9 positions of the gross section of the event, but against the juniors with the Spanish system handicaps which varies a little from the UK it was a little more difficult, but again all finished in top 11 places Neil Williams with his first visit to Spain, played remarkably well, Simon Gillam’s unfortunate injury on day 1 saw him only compete on day 2 and win the daily nett prize @ 10 under, who knows if he had been able to finish day 1. This was also Simon’s 1st taste of competing in Spain. Tremendous composure was shown by Lewis Jackson & Sam Barnett who were unlucky on round 1 to come back and take the best nett and best gross respectively on day 2 in their divisions. The ever-competitive trio of Emma Goddard, Sam Platt & Dan Rowlands once again showed their true colours. All the juniors were pulling each other along and the camaraderie shown by all was a credit and very humbling for me to witness They are all tremendous ambassadors for Graham Moore International Golf Schools & Junior Golf." |

"Moore’s Team are Introduced to H.R.H. Prince Andrew" Graham Moore P.G.A Golf Professional, Graham Moore International Golf Schools Staff and Junior Academy starlets were introduced to H.R.H. Prince Andrew recently at the Open Golf Championship @ Muirfield. Moore quotes, "It was fantastic for my Staff and Academy starlets present at the Open to be introduced to His Royal Highness Prince Andrew. Maria Alzo and I have met His Royal Highness on numerous occasions before, but for the remaining staff of Paul Cunningham, Laura Keogh and Robert Fletton it was a day that they will all remember. The interest that His Royal Highness showed in my work and my team was very humbling to me, the Academy starlets present who also were thrilled to meet His Royal Highness Prince Andrew were Sam Platt (aged 10), Daniel Rowlands (aged 10), Tom Rowlands (aged 7) and Lewis Jackson (aged 9). His Royal Highness took time out to watch Sam (as featured on the attached photo) and was amazed that I had only been coaching him for 2 years in which time he has reached a handicap of 27. I stated that Sam was one of only twenty of his ability that I coach. His Royal Highness quoted to Sam that, ‘you will win a lot of events with that swing’. Sam at this point was speechless. |
